School of Education faculty and staff are dedicated to shaping future educators—teachers and principals, to foster student success across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and beyond. Our faculty members are committed to guiding our graduates to be highly qualified professionals, sought after for their qualifications, and readily finding their place in the workforce.
We offer a comprehensive range of programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, complete with specialized licensure and/or certifications tailored to meet the evolving needs of the educational sector. Nearly all our full-time faculty in the School of Education hold the highest qualifications in their fields and are committed to inspiring and fostering academic success in every student.
Every degree program is designed with a distinct purpose and includes specialized pathways that prepare students for state certification. Earning both a degree and a specialized certificate significantly broadens the knowledge and skills that make aspiring teachers and principals more marketable within the field.

Curriculum and Instruction with Certification
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction is designed for current teachers, or anyone interested in researching, developing, and implementing curriculum changes to support student achievement in K-12 Education. This program allows students to focus on curriculum methodology, pedagogy, and theoretical applications and how to apply these to the classroom. The degree program requires 24 semester credit hours of teacher preparation coursework with 6 additional hours of research courses. The program also allows student to seek initial teacher certification, which requires 6 hours of field experience.
Curriculum and Instruction without Certification
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction without certification is crafted for current teachers and education enthusiasts seeking advanced skills in curriculum development, methodology, and pedagogy. Students will delve into the latest curriculum theories, instructional technologies, and evidence-based practices, preparing them to share the educational landscape. Graduate emerge as catalysts for educational transformation, equipped to drive positive change and innovation in curriculum design.
Alternative Teaching Certification Only
The Graduate Initial Teacher Certification Program includes 6 graduate courses and either a one semester, unpaid student teaching placement or a full year (two semesters), paid internship as teacher-of-record. This program is 24 credits total.
