Admissions Information
Admission to a graduate program is evaluated by both the Graduate School and the department offering the program and both sets of standards and admission procedures must be met for admission to a degree program.

Admission Procedure
There are two steps to apply for admission to a graduate program.
Primary application (https://www.applytexas.org/)
Supplemental program application (https://laserfiche.untdallas.edu/Forms/Graduate_Application) which allows uploading of the following supplemental admission requirements:
Letters of recommendation (2)
Essay - a minimum of 500 words
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all required documentation is received by UNT Dallas by the application deadline (not postmarked).

Public Leadership Admission
Admission Standards
Applicants must have at least 3.00 GPA on the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework leading to the bachelor’s degree, or a 2.80 GPA on all undergraduate work, to be considered for unconditional admission. Applicants who have already completed a master’s degree must have at least a 3.40 GPA on the master’s degree.
(Conditional admission may be granted to students who do not meet the above criteria but based on on the basis of the strength of all of the other admission factors.)The MSPLA Admissions Committee will recommend dismissal of a student from the master’s program if the student receives more than two course grades below C (for purposes of this rule, the lowest grade received in a course is used).
Master’s students may not graduate with more than two C’s in their program requirements, although a course may be repeated to raise a grade of C or less.
Each graduate student must receive advising from the departmental graduate advisor prior to registration each term/semester.
Overall Admission Procedure
To obtain admission to a master’s degree or other graduate academic program, applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements the Graduate School and the admission requirements of the academic program. Requirements of the academic program are often more rigorous than the minimum requirements of the Graduate School. Admission to the Graduate School does not imply admission to a graduate academic program.

a. Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
b. Submit application fee
2. Supplemental Application submission: https://laserfiche.untdallas.edu/Forms/Graduate_Application (MBA program application)
a. The following required documents can be uploaded with the supplemental application:
i. Two letters of recommendation
ii. Essay - a minimum of 500 words - The MS in Public Leadership is a professional degree aimed at preparing public servants and other community-minded individuals to lead their organizations in solving 21st century governance issues. Given your academic and professional experience, what leadership and management skills are you looking to enhance over the course of your time in the program, and how will these help you in fulfilling your desire to serve your community better?

NOTE: Graduate students apply for and are accepted into specific programs. Students who wish to change from one program to another must meet all admission requirements for the new program.
Political Science-BA to Public Leadership-MS Accelerated Program
Admission Standards
This program is limited only to Political Science majors.
Students must have a 3.25 cumulative GPA within the first 75 hours of their degree.
Admission Procedure
Students in the Political Science BA program should follow the Overall Admission Procedure (above) during the Year 3 Fall term to gain admission to the Graduate School and Public Leadership program prior to the 4th year when students begin taking graduate-level courses.
